The Llama List is run by a husband and wife team, Mark and Lisa, inspired by our own three little llamas, aged nine, six, and two.

A primary school teacher and an Army Officer, we have nearly 40 years of experience between us in organising, problem-solving and child development – and we need it! We strongly believe in the gentle, or more accurately the ‘authoritative’ approach – treating our children with the support, respect and care that they deserve and need to thrive and reach their potential.

Every family has its own values, but we hope our content will encourage and support parents to follow their instincts and bring up their little people how they want. Parenting, after all, is a unique journey for you and your family.

We hope that every parent who needs a boost, a hint, a tip, a break or a list for their next decision or activity finds some help here or some guidance and support when it is needed or wanted.

Eventually, we hope to build a community of like-minded, supportive parents with shared values and ideas, but watch this space for that!
